The Film & Video gallery of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a permanent space dedicated to video art and the moving image. Maybe you can pick one when youre really old but its something Im super proud of. Kjartansson and his wife, the artist Ingibjrg Sigurjnsdottir, took the lyrics from the Greek poet Sappho and from Vivant Denon, whose exquisite 18th-century novella No Tomorrow gives the piece its name. We had a great party with the people who are on the terrace in the piece the family that lives in the house and the tenants who live around it. I have to admit right from the start that The Visitors, the work that comprises Ragnar Kjartansson's solo show at the Migros Museum fr Gegenwartskunst in Zrich is, I think, one of his best, most complete and successful. Enlivened by the emotional tenor of the performance, this bohemian mise-en-scne shifts into a pictorial and conceptual framing device. Icelandic performance artist Ragnar Kjartansson has taken on this cultural phenomenon to inaugurate GES-2, the V-A-C Foundation's new House of Culture in Moscow, a former power station reimagined by architect Renzo Piano.
